Ashley Fleming: And then the last step is the top coat. It’s for people who have never done a lot of house projects. This is the exciting part right here with the minerals. But first we have to get all of these items off of here before we can get this project started. Ashley Fleming: After we paint your counters, you’ll want them cleared off all the time because you’ll like looking at them again Stephanie Ward: Absolutely. Danny Lipford: Allen’s a little late to the party, but he’s here to help with some of the moving. Ashley Fleming: Just with this roller, you go right over your old countertops. So you’ll see with each step you just go straight up and down with your minerals. And then also, we probably could do a little bit of cleaning and finishing these cabinets without changing the color, but just put maybe just a little bit of the gloss back on it that it once had. Danny Lipford: That countertop finish I was telling Stephanie about is from Giani. Maybe if you can start reaching on top of the fridge, because I can’t reach there.
To avoid brush marks in your surface, use a spray paint and sealer (remove countertops first, or thoroughly protect non-sprayed surfaces with plastic and painter’s tape) or a dense sponge roller to apply primer and paint.
Afterward, be sure to seal your paint with three to four coats of polyurethane to protect the finish.
It’s a common scenario: This kitchen had perfectly serviceable laminate countertops, but the owner wanted a more luxurious look.
Instead of springing for thousands of dollars’ worth of new granite, she opted to try granite-look countertop paint from Giani, which is sold in a kit that covers 35 square feet of surface area for about $70.
The striations and colors will differ each time you use the product, so it’s best to tackle the whole kitchen at once so that you develop a relatively consistent pattern.
Be sure to get grease off completely with a scouring pad and rinse well with water (specific instructions are available in the kit or on Giani’s website).
And here are some more examples of what a little paint can do to breathe new life into your counters!

I have been writing a series over on entitled “How to Update Your Kitchen on a Budget”. You can buy prefabricated kits at any home improvement store that will take you step by step through the process, or you can buy the individual paints and products separately.
My original plan was to only write a two part series (in case you missed them, here are the links for part 1 and part 2.) However, last week I received a few emails asking advice on how to update tired kitchen counters. Creative Kristi provides a fantastic video tutorial on how to paint your counters to resemble granite using simple acrylic craft paints and a high gloss sealer.
Well never fear, today we are going to explore several ways to update your kitchen counters on a budget! Don’t they look amazingly similar to the real deal?Tags: Adult Dating, affair dating, sex dating
